«واقع‌نگری» با زیرعنوان دقیق «ده دلیل که ثابت می‌کند اوضاع دنیا آن‌قدرها هم که فکر می‌کنیم بد نیست»، ترجمهٔ فارسی Factfulness: Ten Reasons We’re Wrong About the World—and Why Things Are Better Than You Think است؛ اثری از هنس روسلینگ (Hans Rosling) با همکاری اولا روسلینگ (Ola Rosling) و آنا روسلینگ (Anna Rosling Rönnlund)، با ترجمهٔ عاطفه هاشمی (Atefeh Hashemi) و سیدحسن رضوی (Seyed Hassan Razavi) و انتشار نشر میلکان. کتاب از خواننده می‌خواهد برداشت خود از جهان را با داده‌های قابل سنجش بیازماید: نه برای انکار جنگ، فقر، بیماری، نابرابری یا بحران اقلیمی، بلکه برای پرهیز از تصویری که هم پیشرفت‌های واقعی را نادیده می‌گیرد و هم اولویت‌گذاری درست را دشوار می‌کند.

نویسندگان توضیح می‌دهند که ذهن انسان زیر تأثیر ده «غریزهٔ نمایشی» خبرها و روندها را بدتر، ساده‌تر یا فوری‌تر از واقعیت می‌بیند. کتاب هر غریزه را با نمونه‌ها، پرسش‌های سنجشی و عادت‌های فکری کاربردی بررسی می‌کند:

5. غریزهٔ اندازه: قضاوت‌کردن دربارهٔ یک عدد بدون مقایسه، نسبت یا مقیاس مناسب.
6. غریزهٔ تعمیم: تبدیل یک نمونه یا دسته‌بندی مفید به حکمی کلی دربارهٔ همه.
7. غریزهٔ سرنوشت: ثابت‌پنداشتن فرهنگ‌ها، کشورها و انسان‌ها و ندیدن تغییر تدریجی.
8. غریزهٔ تک‌دیدگاهی: توضیح هر مسئله با یک علت یا یک راه‌حل محبوب.
9. غریزهٔ سرزنش: یافتن یک مقصر ساده به‌جای فهم نظام‌ها، علت‌ها و پیامدها.
10. غریزهٔ فوریت: تصمیم‌گیری شتاب‌زده زیر فشار «همین حالا»، پیش از بررسی داده و گزینه‌ها.

این روش «واقع‌نگری» خوش‌بینی ساده‌لوحانه نیست؛ انضباطی برای نگه‌داشتن هم‌زمان دو واقعیت است: جهان هنوز مشکلات جدی دارد و بسیاری از شاخص‌های زندگی نیز در بلندمدت بهتر شده‌اند. خواننده یاد می‌گیرد میان سطح و جهت یک روند فرق بگذارد، عددهای تنها را با مقیاس و نرخ بسنجد، دسته‌بندی‌ها را آزمایش کند و پیش از واکنش به خبرهای تکان‌دهنده، خطر واقعی را با میزان مواجهه مقایسه کند.

پدیدآوری، نام‌های روی جلد و انتشار اصل

این کتاب حاصل همکاری خانوادگی و حرفه‌ای است. هنس روسلینگ (Hans Rosling) تجربهٔ پزشکی و سلامت جهانی و شیوهٔ روایت داده روی صحنه را به اثر آورد؛ اولا روسلینگ (Ola Rosling) و آنا روسلینگ (Anna Rosling Rönnlund) سال‌ها روی ابزارهای تصویری داده و پروژه‌های گپ‌مایندر کار کردند و در صورت‌بندی ابزارهای واقع‌نگری و تکمیل کتاب نقش داشتند. صورت فارسی همین سه پیوند، املای دقیق نام‌ها روی جلد موجود را بازتاب می‌دهد. صورت هانس روسلینگ (Hans Rosling) نیز در فهرست‌ها و جست‌وجوهای فارسی دیده می‌شود، اما این صفحه املای جلدِ همین ترجمه، «هنس»، را نام اصلی قرار می‌دهد. نسخهٔ اصلی پس از درگذشت هنس روسلینگ (Hans Rosling) و در سال ۲۰۱۸ منتشر شد.

عنوان کوتاه انگلیسی صفحه فقط Factfulness است؛ عنوان کامل اصل در جدول آمده و وجود آن به معنای انگلیسی‌بودن نسخهٔ فروشی نیست. این محصول ترجمهٔ فارسی است. صورت‌های لاتین مترجمان در پیوندهای این صفحه نویسه‌گردانی تحریریهٔ الفبا هستند، زیرا املای لاتین خوداظهاری‌شده‌ای برای آنان در منابع بررسی‌شده پیدا نشد.

یادداشت نسخهٔ فارسی

شابک این ترجمه ۹۷۸۶۰۰۷۸۴۵۷۵۲ و ناشر آن میلکان است. رکوردهای بازار برای چاپ‌های مختلف همین ترجمه با یکدیگر همسان نیستند: ۲۸۰، ۲۸۶ و ۲۸۸ صفحه و نیز قطع وزیری یا رقعی ثبت شده است. کاتالوگ فعلی الفبا برای نسخهٔ فیزیکی ۲۸۸ صفحه، قطع رقعی و جلد شومیز نوشته، اما تصویر جلد شناسنامهٔ داخل همان نسخهٔ موجود را نشان نمی‌دهد. بنابراین ۲۸۸ فقط مشخصهٔ فعلی و هنوز تأییدنشدهٔ کاتالوگ است؛ سال، نوبت چاپ، صفحه‌شماری و قطع نسخهٔ موجود از روی رکورد چاپی دیگر حدس زده نمی‌شود و شناسنامهٔ همان نسخه در انبار مرجع نهایی است.

Factfulness: Ten Reasons We’re Wrong About the World—and Why Things Are Better Than You Think is a data-informed guide by Hans Rosling with Ola Rosling and Anna Rosling Rönnlund, translated into Persian by Atefeh Hashemi and Seyed Hassan Razavi and published by Milkan. The authors describe ten “dramatic instincts” that can make news and trends appear worse, simpler or more urgent than the evidence supports. Each instinct is paired with practical habits for checking a claim:

1. The Gap Instinct: dividing the world into two opposing camps while missing the spectrum and the majority in between.
2. The Negativity Instinct: remembering bad news while overlooking slow, long-term improvements.
3. The Straight Line Instinct: assuming every trend will continue forever at the same rate.
4. The Fear Instinct: confusing what feels frightening with what presents the greatest real risk.
5. The Size Instinct: judging a number without a useful comparison, rate or scale.
6. The Generalisation Instinct: turning a useful category or isolated example into a claim about everyone.
7. The Destiny Instinct: treating people, cultures and countries as fixed and ignoring gradual change.
8. The Single Perspective Instinct: forcing every problem through one preferred cause or solution.
9. The Blame Instinct: choosing a simple culprit instead of examining systems, causes and consequences.
10. The Urgency Instinct: making rushed decisions under “act now” pressure before checking evidence and options.

Factfulness is not naive optimism. It is the discipline of holding two truths together: serious problems remain, and many measures of human life have improved over time. Its tools encourage readers to distinguish a trend’s level from its direction, compare lone figures with rates and scales, test categories, and weigh danger against actual exposure before reacting to a dramatic story.

Authorship and the Persian cover

The book grew from a family and professional collaboration. Hans Rosling brought his experience in medicine, global health and live data storytelling; Ola Rosling and Anna Rosling Rönnlund contributed years of work on Gapminder’s data-visualisation tools and helped formulate the Factfulness framework and complete the manuscript. The Persian display names linked in the preceding section reproduce the credits on AlefBa’s photographed cover. The original book was published posthumously in 2018.

Factfulness is the concise English secondary title on this page; the full original title appears in the details table. Its presence does not imply that the copy for sale is in English—this product is the Persian translation. The translators’ Roman spellings in the links are AlefBa editorial transliterations because no self-attested Roman spellings were found in the reviewed sources.

Persian-edition note

This translation is published by Milkan under ISBN 9786007845752. Market records for different printings conflict, listing 280, 286 or 288 pages and either Vazir or Roqei trim. AlefBa’s current catalogue says that the physical copy has 288 pages, Roqei trim and paperback binding, but the active cover image does not show that stock copy’s colophon. The 288-page figure is therefore retained only as an unverified catalogue specification. AlefBa does not infer the stock copy’s year, printing number, pagination or trim from another printing; the colophon of the actual copy in stock is authoritative.
