Refund and Returns Policy

This policy applies to purchases from Alefba Persian Bookshop through alefba.com.au.
Australian Consumer Law
Our goods come with consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. If an item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, not as described, or has a major problem, please contact us and we will provide the remedy required by law, which may include a refund, replacement, exchange, or another suitable remedy.
This policy does not limit any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Change of mind returns
We may accept change-of-mind returns within 14 days of delivery if the return is approved before the item is sent back and the book or product is unread, unused, in its original condition, and safely packaged.
Customers are responsible for return postage for approved change-of-mind returns. Original shipping costs are not refundable unless the return is due to our error or a consumer guarantee issue.
Damaged, faulty, or incorrect items
If your order arrives damaged, faulty, incorrect, or not as described, contact us as soon as possible, preferably within 7 days of delivery. Please include your order number and clear photos of the item and packaging so we can assess the issue quickly.
Items that cannot be returned for change of mind
- Items that have been read, used, marked, damaged, or are no longer in resaleable condition.
- Digital or downloadable products.
- Special order items, unless faulty, incorrect, damaged, or not as described.
How to request a return
Email al*******************@***il.com or message us on WhatsApp at +61 477 668 343 with your order number and the reason for the return. Please wait for confirmation before sending any item back.
If a return needs to be mailed, we will confirm the return instructions and address before you send the item. Customer visits and pickups are by appointment only.
Refunds
Once an approved return is received and inspected, refunds are processed to the original payment method where possible. Approved refunds are usually processed within 7 business days after the returned item is received and inspected. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to make the refund available.
