بر جاده‌های آبی سرخ رمانی تاریخی از نادر ابراهیمی (Nader Ebrahimi) است که زندگی میرمهنا دوغابی، دریانورد و چهرهٔ شورشی جنوب ایران در سدهٔ هجدهم، را به مرکز داستان می‌آورد. میرمهنا در روایت‌های استعماری غالباً «دزد دریایی» نامیده شده؛ ابراهیمی می‌کوشد رخدادها را از چشم‌اندازی ایرانی و در متن رقابت قدرت‌ها در خلیج فارس بازخوانی کند.
داستان در بنادر و جزایر جنوب، از جمله پیرامون جزیرهٔ خارگ، می‌گذرد و نبرد با حضور استعماری هلند را با کشمکش‌های محلی، دریا، تجارت و سیاست پیوند می‌زند. شخصیت اصلی نه قهرمانی بی‌نقص، بلکه مردی درگیر قدرت، وفاداری، خشونت و انتخاب‌های دشوار است.
نویسنده تصریح می‌کند که رمان عینِ واقعیت تاریخی نیست، هرچند تا جای ممکن بر مدارک و منابع تکیه دارد. بنابراین کتاب را می‌توان هم روایت ماجراجویانه‌ای دریایی و هم بازسازی ادبیِ چهره‌ای کم‌تر شناخته‌شده خواند؛ برای سنجش جزئیات تاریخی، مراجعه به پژوهش‌های مستقل نیز سودمند است.

About Bar Jadehaye Abi-ye Sorkh
Bar Jadehaye Abi-ye Sorkh is a historical novel by Nader Ebrahimi centred on Mir Mahna Douqabi, an eighteenth-century sailor and rebel from southern Iran. Colonial accounts often labelled Mir Mahna a “pirate”; Ebrahimi reconsiders the events from an Iranian perspective and within the rivalry of powers in the Persian Gulf.
Set around southern ports and islands, including the waters near Kharg Island, the novel connects resistance to Dutch colonial presence with local conflict, seafaring, trade and politics. Its central figure is not presented as a faultless hero, but as a man negotiating power, loyalty, violence and difficult choices.
Ebrahimi notes that a novel cannot reproduce historical reality exactly, although he grounded the work in documents and sources where possible. The book can therefore be read both as a maritime adventure and as a literary reconstruction of a lesser-known figure; independent historical scholarship remains useful for assessing particular details.
