The Fifth Mountain by Paulo Coelho reimagines the story of the prophet Elijah, who flees Queen Jezebel and seeks refuge in the Phoenician city of Akbar. His bond with a young widow and her son, the Assyrian invasion, and the city’s destruction confront him with love, anger, doubt, and the meaning of obedience to God.

The novel presents faith as something more demanding than passive acceptance: after catastrophe, a person can rise and take responsibility for rebuilding life. This Persian edition is translated by Hossein Naeimi and published by Sales.
