Aghalliyat va Aksariyat: The Memoirs of Dr Farhang Mehr, volume 5 of the Oral and Visual History of Contemporary Iran series, records research interviews conducted by Hossein Dehbashi with Farhang Mehr.
Mehr, a Zoroastrian economist and university administrator, recounts his education, public service, leadership of Iran Insurance Company and Pahlavi University, and work within Zoroastrian organisations. The interviews also address land reform, higher education, rural migration, state–minority relations and the years leading to the 1979 Revolution.
Its value lies in a first-person account by a senior administrator and member of a religious minority. As oral history, it represents the narrator’s memory and viewpoint and is best read alongside documentary evidence and other testimonies.
