کتاب دو دنیا نوشته گلی ترقی مجموعهای شامل هفت داستان کوتاه است و در واقع جلد دوم خاطرههای پراکنده به شمار میآید. راوی که خودِ نویسنده است، بهدلیل مشکلات روحی در آسایشگاهی در حومه پاریس بستری میشود و به توصیه پزشکان، برای بازیابی سلامت خود، به نوشتن خاطراتش از کودکی در محلههای قدیمی تهران تا سالهای بزرگسالی و مهاجرت میپردازد. هر داستان بازتاب یکی از این خاطرات است و در نهایت در «آخرین روز» او سلامت خود را بازمییابد و از بیمارستان مرخص میشود. حضور پررنگ زنان و تصویرسازی دقیق از تهران دهههای ۱۳۲۰ تا ۱۳۶۰ از ویژگیهای شاخص این مجموعه است. داستانهای «گلهای شیراز» و «آن سوی دیوار» در دوره سوم جایزه هوشنگ گلشیری برگزیده شدند و داستان «درخت گلابی» نیز توسط داریوش مهرجویی به فیلمی سینمایی تبدیل شد.
Two Worlds by Goli Taraghi is a collection of seven short stories and serves as the second volume of Scattered Memories. The narrator, Taraghi herself, is hospitalized in a psychiatric clinic in the suburbs of Paris due to emotional distress. Following her doctors’ advice, she begins to write in order to heal, revisiting her memories from childhood in old Tehran neighborhoods to adulthood and migration. Each story reflects one of these memories, and in the final story, “The Last Day,” she regains her health and leaves the hospital. The strong presence of female characters and vivid depictions of Tehran from the 1940s to the late 1980s distinguish this collection. Two stories, “The Flowers of Shiraz” and “Beyond the Wall,” were selected as winners at the third Houshang Golshiri Literary Award, and her story “The Pear Tree” was adapted into a film by Dariush Mehrjui.
