درباره کتاب رضاشاه

رضاشاه نوشته صادق زیباکلام (Sadegh Zibakalam) روایتی تحلیلی از برآمدن رضاخان و شکل‌گیری حکومت پهلوی اول است. نویسنده دو روایت قطبی را به پرسش می‌کشد: تصویری کاملاً قهرمانانه از رضاشاه و روایتی که قدرت‌گیری او را صرفاً محصول اراده بریتانیا می‌داند.

زیباکلام استدلال می‌کند که برای فهم صعود رضاشاه باید شرایط اجتماعی، سیاسی و اقتصادی ایران پس از مشروطه، ضعف حکومت مرکزی و اراده و کوشش شخصی رضاخان را در کنار هم دید. کتاب همچنین برنامه نوسازی، تمرکز قدرت و برخی کاستی‌ها و پیامدهای اقتدارگرایانه حکومت او را بررسی می‌کند. این اثر یک تفسیر تاریخی از دیدگاه نویسنده است و خواننده را به مقایسه روایت‌های رقیب دعوت می‌کند.

About Reza Shah

Reza Shah by Sadegh Zibakalam is an analytical account of Reza Khan’s rise and the formation of the first Pahlavi state. The author questions two polarised narratives: the wholly heroic image of Reza Shah and the claim that his ascent was simply the product of British design.

Zibakalam argues that Reza Shah’s rise must be understood through the social, political and economic conditions of post-Constitutional Iran, the weakness of central government, and Reza Khan’s own determination and efforts. The book also examines his modernisation programme, the centralisation of power, and shortcomings and authoritarian consequences of his rule. It is a historical interpretation from the author’s perspective and invites comparison with competing accounts.

This Persian paperback edition was published by H&S Media in 2019, runs to 300 pages, and carries ISBN 9781780837628.
