«لبهی پرتگاه» فیلمنامهای فیلمنشده از بهرام بیضایی (Bahram Beyzaie) است که در ۱۳۸۵ نوشته شد. روایت با ساخت یک فیلم و مرز لغزان میان نقش و زندگی بازیگران پیش میرود: شیدا شباهنگ در فیلمی در حال ساخت جسدی را در صندوق عقب حمل میکند و جهان پشت دوربین کمکم همان منطق اضطرابآورِ صحنه را بازتاب میدهد.
بیضایی از این ساختمانِ فیلمدرفیلم برای پرداختن به هویت، بازیگری، قدرت و مناسبات تولید سینما استفاده میکند. پروژهٔ سینمایی در ۱۳۸۶ وارد پیشتولید شد اما بهدلیل اختلافهای تولیدی ساخته نشد؛ تجربهٔ ناتمام آن بعدتر یکی از زمینههای شکلگیری «وقتی همه خوابیم» شد.

About the Screenplay On the Edge of the Precipice
On the Edge of the Precipice is an unfilmed screenplay written in 2006 by Bahram Beyzaie. It moves through the making of a film and the unstable boundary between actors’ roles and their lives: Shida Shabahang carries a corpse in the boot of a car within the film being shot, while the world behind the camera gradually reflects the scene’s unsettling logic.
Beyzaie uses this film-within-a-film structure to explore identity, performance, power and the conditions of cinema production. The project entered pre-production in 2007 but was abandoned after production disputes; that unfinished experience later informed the background of When We Are All Asleep.
Roshangaran and Women’s Studies Publishing issued the Persian screenplay under ISBN 9789648564860. This registered paperback edition contains 156 pages in standard trade format.
