ابله رمانی از فئودور داستایفسکی است. نسخهٔ معرفی‌شده را نشر خوارزمی با ترجمهٔ مهری آهی به فارسی منتشر کرده است. داستان، حضور مردی صادق و دلسوز را در میان آدم‌هایی دنبال می‌کند که خواسته‌ها و برداشت‌های متفاوتی از او دارند.
شاهزاده میشکین پس از اقامت در آسایشگاهی در سوئیس به روسیه بازمی‌گردد. در راه، با راگوژین آشنا می‌شود و سپس به محافل سن‌پترزبورگ راه می‌یابد. رابطهٔ آنان با ناستاسیا فیلیپوونا، احساسات و رقابت‌های پیچیده‌ای را پیش می‌کشد. پول، موقعیت اجتماعی و میل به تصاحب بر تصمیم شخصیت‌ها اثر می‌گذارند. در مقابل، برخورد بی‌پیرایهٔ میشکین با بدگمانی و سوءتفاهم روبه‌رو می‌شود. معرفی اثر در وبگاه پنگوئن رندوم هاوس نیز بر همین برخورد میان نیکی و مناسبات اجتماعی تمرکز دارد.
خواندن رمان ابله

ترجمهٔ فارسی نشر خوارزمی
بنا بر توضیح ناشر دربارهٔ این ترجمه، مترجم بخش عمدهٔ رمان را ترجمه کرده بود، اما کار پیش از انتشار ناتمام ماند. ضیاءالدین فروشانی ترجمه را تکمیل، ویرایش و یکدست کرد. بنابراین نقش او در آماده‌شدن این متن فارسی نیز اهمیت دارد. تصویر محصول، روی جلد زرد همین ترجمه و نام مترجم اصلی را نشان می‌دهد. زبان کتاب عرضه‌شده فارسی است.
The Idiot: goodness and social judgment
The Idiot is a novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky. This listing presents Khwarazmi’s Persian translation by Mehri Ahi. The story follows an unusually open and compassionate man among people whose desires and interpretations of his actions differ sharply.
Prince Myshkin returns to Russia after a stay at a Swiss sanatorium. He meets Rogozhin on the journey and enters Saint Petersburg society. Meanwhile, Myshkin’s directness encounters suspicion and misunderstanding. Penguin Random House’s introduction to the novel also highlights this collision between goodness and social ambition.
A way into the novel
Readers interested in Russian classics and characters facing moral and emotional conflict may find much to discuss here. For example, compare each character’s judgment of Myshkin with that person’s own behaviour. When does honesty look like naivety? How does compassion become entangled with jealousy or the desire to rescue another person? These questions offer a way to follow the relationships. Khwarazmi’s Persian translation
According to the publisher’s account of this translation, the main translator had translated most of the novel, but the work remained unfinished before publication. Ziaeddin Foroushani completed, edited and harmonised the translation. His contribution therefore forms part of the history of this Persian text.
