«لیلی و مجنون» منظومهٔ عاشقانهٔ ماندگار نظامی گنجوی (Nizami Ganjavi) و سومین بخش از خمسهٔ اوست. قیس و لیلی در مکتب دل به یکدیگر میبندند، اما مخالفت خانواده و قبیله راه پیوندشان را میبندد. قیس که در فراق به صحرا پناه میبرد به «مجنون» شهرت مییابد و عشق شخصی او به تجربهای شاعرانه از فقدان، وفاداری و بریدن از جهان اجتماعی بدل میشود.

About Nizami Ganjavi’s Layli and Majnun
Layli and Majnun is the enduring romance by Nizami Ganjavi and the third poem of his Khamsa. Qays and Layli fall in love at school, but family and tribal opposition prevent their union. Qays withdraws into the wilderness and becomes known as Majnun; his personal love develops into a poetic experience of loss, fidelity and separation from social life.
The poem’s force lies not only in the lovers’ story. Through dialogue, natural imagery, inset tales, and ethical and mystical reflection, Nizami explores love and choice, the individual and the tribe, name and identity. This edition presents the text with the critical correction and notes of Hasan Vahid Dastgerdi, prepared for publication by Saeed Hamidian.
Qatreh publishes this volume in its Persian Classics series under ISBN 9789645958402. It is a 302-page crown-octavo paperback. The current product photograph identifies the twentieth printing; the same ISBN has continued across later printings.
