معرفی کتاب مول

«مول» نخستین مجموعه داستان کوتاه احمد محمود (Ahmad Mahmoud) است. منابع سال انتشار نخست را به دو صورت ثبت کرده‌اند: ۱۳۳۶ / ۱۹۵۷ یا ۱۳۳۸ / ۱۹۵۹. این صفحه هر دو گزینه را با ذکر اختلاف منابع می‌آورد و آن‌ها را یک بازه پیوسته نشان نمی‌دهد. مجموعه هشت داستان «مسافر»، «انتر تریاکی»، «مول»، «کابوس»، «مأمور اجرا»، «سه ساعت دیگر»، «حسرت» و «کهیار» را در بر می‌گیرد. این کتاب نقطه آغاز کار نویسنده‌ای است که بعدها زندگی کارگران، تهیدستان و مردم جنوب ایران را با رئالیسم اجتماعی، گفت‌وگوهای زنده و جزئیات اقلیمی روایت کرد.

داستان‌ها کوتاه و فشرده‌اند و به‌جای قهرمان‌سازی، فشار فقر، کار، تشنگی، جابه‌جایی و نابرابری قدرت را در زندگی روزمره نشان می‌دهند. صورت کتاب‌شناختی انگلیسی عنوان Mūl (The Paramour) است و در نوشتار ساده لاتین می‌توان Mul نوشت؛ ترجمه آن به The Mullah دقیق نیست. نسخه حاضر نشر معین، ۹۶ صفحه و شومیز است. برای این چاپ شابک مستقلی با اطمینان تأیید نشد و شابک مجموعه «سه کتاب» به این نسخه جداگانه تعلق ندارد.

About Mūl (The Paramour)

Mūl (The Paramour)—often written Mul in plain ASCII—is the debut short-story collection by Ahmad Mahmoud. Bibliographic sources disagree on the first publication date, recording either 1957 (1336 SH) or 1959 (1338 SH). This page reports both alternatives rather than presenting them as a continuous range or choosing one without a first-edition record. Its eight stories—“The Traveller,” “The Opium Addict Baboon,” “Mūl,” “Nightmare,” “The Enforcement Officer,” “Three More Hours,” “Regret” and “Kahyar”—mark the beginning of the social-realist project that would define Mahmoud’s fiction. The collection observes workers, poor families and ordinary people in southern Iran through compressed scenes, internal tension, spoken language and a close sense of place.

The established bibliographic title is Mūl (The Paramour); translating it as The Mullah is inaccurate. This standalone Moein edition is a 96-page paperback.
