From your shelf to another reader

1. Register or sign in

   On the account page, enter your email in the registration section and submit it. A password-setup link is emailed to you. Set your password, then sign in. Existing customers can use their email or username and password; no separate seller account is needed.

   Open the My Bookshop section of your account to submit books and view sales and credit. Selling and messaging require you to be at least 18.

2. Verify your seller email

   If your My Bookshop area asks for email verification, request the link. Check your inbox and spam folder, then open it while signed in to the same account. This is separate from the registration password-setup link.

3. Submit your book

   Each listing represents one physical copy you own or have permission to sell.

   • Choose new or second-hand. Second-hand books also require a condition; “like new” is still second-hand.
   • Add the title, author, description and asking price. ISBN is optional. Describe the language, edition, translator and flaws such as writing or tears.
   • Upload one to five real photos of the covers and flaws. The first is the main image. A camera option works on compatible devices.
   • Use JPEG, PNG or WebP. Follow the file-size limits shown on the form.
   • Price the book between AUD 1 and AUD 2,000. The credit preview is an estimate; tax, the buyer’s address and discounts affect the final amount.

   Keep contact details, addresses and faces out of photos and descriptions. Read and accept the terms, then submit for review.

4. Arrange delivery to AlefBa

   Your book starts as awaiting delivery and review and is not visible to buyers. Contact AlefBa and quote the book ID shown in your listings. Agree on timing, destination, delivery method and costs before visiting or posting it.

   The book becomes available only after physical receipt and approval. Submission does not guarantee acceptance or a sale. Direct seller-to-buyer shipping and automatic postage labels are not active. Contact the shop for listing changes or collection of an unsold book.

In the marketplace, check the book’s type, condition, photos, description and price. Add it to your cart. Review your order details, final amount, tax and shipping option and cost at checkout, accept the marketplace terms and complete your purchase. Sign in to use credit.

Each listing is one copy; sellers cannot buy their own. AlefBa handles payment and fulfilment. A conversation does not automatically change the order price. Contact AlefBa support for book or order problems.

Message the seller

Use the seller-contact button on the book page and sign in. Read and accept the disclosure and terms before sending. Follow replies in your book conversations; sellers reply from their own account area.

Messages are not public. Both participants and authorised AlefBa administrators have access for support, disputes and safety. There is no end-to-end encryption. Do not send passwords, bank details or identity documents; keep payments on the website.

Messages are text-only, without attachments, and limited to 4,000 characters. Conversation controls let you report the other participant’s message or block two-way communication across all conversations. Blocking preserves history.

Conversations become eligible for scheduled deletion 24 calendar months after the last message; deletion is not immediate. A justified, documented legal hold with a review date is an exception. Administrator viewing does not restart the period; a report alone does not create a hold.
