تاریخ بیهقی-ابوالفضل بیهقی

کتاب «تاریخ بیهقی» اثر ابوالفضل محمد بن حسین بیهقی، یکی از شاهکارهای نثر کلاسیک فارسی و از مهم‌ترین منابع تاریخی دربارهٔ دوره غزنویان است. بیهقی که خود دبیر دیوان رسائل در دربار سلطان مسعود غزنوی بود، با دقت، انصاف و نثری فاخر، به روایت حوادث، شخصیت‌ها و فضای سیاسی-اجتماعی آن دوران می‌پردازد.

برخلاف بسیاری از تاریخ‌نویسان درباری، بیهقی تنها به مدح پادشاهان نپرداخته، بلکه با دیدی واقع‌گرایانه و گاه انتقادی، جزئیات زندگی دربار، دسیسه‌ها، خیانت‌ها، جنگ‌ها و رخدادهای تلخ و شیرین آن روزگار را ثبت کرده است. نثر او روان، سرشار از لطافت‌های زبانی، و آمیخته با گفتار مردم زمانه است؛ تا جایی که «تاریخ بیهقی» نه تنها یک متن تاریخی، بلکه گنجینه‌ای ادبی نیز به شمار می‌رود.

بیهقی در این اثر، تاریخ را تنها گزارش واقعه نمی‌داند، بلکه آن را آموزگاری برای خردمندان می‌بیند. او با زبانی بی‌تکلف، خواننده را نه فقط با وقایع، بلکه با روح زمانه آشنا می‌کند.
