«مشروطهی ایرانی» پژوهشی اثرگذار از ماشاءالله آجودانی (Mashallah Ajoudani) درباره زبان سیاسی و فکری ایران در آستانه انقلاب مشروطه است. آجودانی بهجای روایت خطی رویدادها، میپرسد مفاهیمی مانند آزادی، قانون، ملت، دولت و مجلس هنگامی که از زبانهای اروپایی وارد فضای تاریخی و دینی ایران شدند چه معناهایی پیدا کردند و چگونه همین جابهجاییِ معنا بر عمل سیاسی اثر گذاشت.
کتاب در دو بخش اصلی، نخست زمینههای فکری و سیاسی مشروطه و نقش ترجمه و تفسیر مفاهیم جدید را بررسی میکند و سپس در «دفتر روشنفکری» به تناقضهای روشنفکران، روحانیان و نیروهای سیاسی و سرنوشت آزادی در سالهای پایانی سلطنت ناصرالدینشاه تا تشکیل مجلس دوم میپردازد. یادداشتهای مفصل و نمایهٔ نامها کتاب را به منبعی جدی برای خوانندگان تاریخ اندیشه و تاریخ معاصر ایران تبدیل کردهاند.
این اثر اصالتاً فارسی است و مترجم ندارد. چاپ نخست در لندن در ۱۳۷۶ / ۱۹۹۷ با عنوان کاملتر «مشروطهٔ ایرانی و پیشزمینههای نظریهٔ ولایت فقیه» منتشر شد. نسخهٔ حاضرِ نشر اختران با عنوان بازار و روی جلدِ «مشروطهی ایرانی»، شابک 9789647514491 و ۵۶۰ صفحه عرضه شده است. Iranian Constitutionalism برگردان دانشگاهی شناختهشده و Mashruteh-ye Irani آوانویسی عنواناند؛ هیچکدام در این صفحه بهعنوان عنوان یک چاپ انگلیسی مستقل معرفی نمیشوند. سال چاپ و قطع نسخهٔ موجود باید با شناسنامهٔ همان نسخه تطبیق داده شود، چون رکوردهای بازار برای همین شابک یکدست نیستند.

About Iranian Constitutionalism (Mashruteh-ye Irani)
Mashruteh-ye Irani is an influential Persian-language study by Mashallah Ajoudani of political and intellectual language around Iran’s Constitutional Revolution. Rather than offering only a chronological history, Ajoudani asks what happened to concepts such as liberty, law, nation, state and parliament when they moved from European languages into Iran’s particular historical and religious setting—and how those changes in meaning shaped political action.
Across two main parts, the book first examines the intellectual and political background of constitutionalism and the translation and reinterpretation of new concepts. Its second part, “The Intellectuals’ Notebook,” follows the contradictions surrounding intellectuals, clerics and political actors, and the fate of liberty from the final decades of Naser al-Din Shah’s reign through the formation of the Second Majles. Extensive notes and an index make the volume a substantial resource for readers of Iranian intellectual and modern history.
The work was written in Persian and has no translator. Its first London edition appeared in 1997 under a longer Persian title referring to the background of the theory of guardianship of the jurist. The present 560-page Akhtaran edition uses the established cover and market title مشروطهی ایرانی and ISBN 9789647514491. Iranian Constitutionalism is a recognised academic English rendering and Mashruteh-ye Irani is a transliteration for international discovery; neither is presented here as the title of a verified standalone English edition. The year and physical format of the stocked copy require a colophon check because market records for this ISBN conflict.
