No Saints or Angels by Ivan Klíma is narrated by Kristýna, a dentist in post-Communist Prague caught between the memory of her Stalinist father, a failed marriage, her troubled teenage daughter, and a new relationship.
The country’s political past persists inside private lives, and newly gained freedom does not immediately bring peace. Klíma examines responsibility, betrayal, memory, and the difficulty of moral judgment in a society undergoing transition. This Persian edition is translated by Heshmat Kamrani and published by Nashr-e Now.
