Days on the Road is a two-volume collection of Shahrokh Meskoob’s diaries, spanning the eve of the 1979 Revolution through his later years in exile. Meskoob records his personal and intellectual life alongside politics, literature, friendship, work, illness, migration, and longing for Iran.

The book’s value lies not only in its historical record but also in the author’s candour and self-examination, which create a rare portrait of an Iranian intellectual living away from home. Written across roughly eighteen years, the complete diaries were published in Paris by Khavaran in two volumes.
