مشکلات روانی انسان مدرن presents essays by Carl Gustav Jung, translated into Persian by Mahmoud Behforouzi, on the crisis modern people experience in relation to the unconscious, tradition, religion and society. Jung argues that scientific progress and apparent freedom do not automatically create psychological wholeness, and that neglected parts of the personality can return through dreams, anxiety, conflict and collective behaviour.
The essays move from the aims of psychotherapy and the role of dreams to Jung’s differences with Freud and the place of spiritual life in modernity. This is not a simple positive-thinking manual: it asks readers to take inner contradictions, the shadow side of personality and the limits of purely rational explanation seriously.
Analytical psychology and the crisis of modernity
The German parent collection is Seelenprobleme der Gegenwart, published in 1931. The Spiritual Problem of Modern Man is the established title of one particular Jung essay, not the title of the entire Persian volume, and is therefore not presented here as a false translation of the whole collection.
