معرفی کتاب مأموریت برای وطنم؛ نسخهٔ جلد سخت
«مأموریت برای وطنم» نوشتهٔ محمدرضا پهلوی (Mohammad Reza Pahlavi) آمیزهای از زندگینامه، روایت تاریخی و برنامهٔ سیاسی است. نویسنده از ایران باستان و معاصر، دگرگونیهای دورهٔ رضاشاه، کودکی و آموزش خود، اشغال ایران در جنگ جهانی دوم، مسئلهٔ نفت، ملیگرایی و موقعیت ایران در خاورمیانه سخن میگوید.
اثر فارسی در سال ۱۳۳۹ خورشیدی منتشر شد و عنوان انگلیسی شناختهشدهٔ آن Mission for My Country است. چون کتاب پیش از اجرای برنامهٔ «انقلاب سفید» نوشته شده، گزارشِ پس از آن رویداد نیست؛ بلکه نگاه نویسنده را در آستانهٔ دههٔ ۱۳۴۰ دربارهٔ اصلاحات ارضی، آموزش، نقش زنان، نوسازی اقتصادی، فناوری و رابطهٔ ایران با قدرتهای جهانی ثبت میکند.
این کتاب یک خودروایت سیاسی است، نه تاریخنگاری بیطرف. ارزش خواندن آن در آشنایی مستقیم با تصویری است که نویسنده از زندگی، سلطنت و برنامهٔ خود ارائه میکند. مقایسهٔ این روایت با پژوهشهای تاریخی و اسناد دوره، به خواننده امکان میدهد میان ادعای نویسنده، تصمیمهای حکومت و ارزیابیهای بعدی تفاوت بگذارد.
محصول حاضر نسخهٔ جلد سخت از انتشارات شادان ایران است. تصویر موجود، جلد کتاب را نشان میدهد اما شناسنامه و پشت جلد نسخهٔ انبار دیده نمیشود؛ بنابراین شابک، سال تجدید چاپ و شمار صفحهٔ همین نسخه حدس زده نشدهاند. کتاب در اصل به فارسی تألیف شده و مترجم ندارد. رکورد کتابشناختی چاپ نخست فارسی، ۶۷۶ صفحه بههمراه ۴۰ صفحه تصویر را ثبت میکند؛ این عدد مربوط به چاپ نخست است و نباید با مشخصات نسخهٔ شادان ایران یکی دانسته شود.

About the Hardcover Edition of Mission for My Country
Mission for My Country by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi combines autobiography, historical narrative and a political programme. The author discusses ancient and modern Iran, the changes pursued under Reza Shah, his childhood and education, the Allied occupation during the Second World War, oil, nationalism and Iran’s position in the Middle East.
The Persian work was published in 1339 SH, corresponding to 1960, and is widely known in English as Mission for My Country. Because it was written before the White Revolution programme was implemented, it is not a retrospective account of that event. Instead, it records the author’s outlook at the beginning of the 1960s on land reform, education, women’s role, economic modernisation, technology and Iran’s relationship with global powers.
This is a political self-portrait rather than neutral history. Its value lies in allowing readers to encounter the author’s own presentation of his life, reign and programme. Reading it alongside historical scholarship and contemporary documents helps distinguish the author’s claims, the government’s decisions and later assessments.
