معرفی کتاب ملکوت
«ملکوت» تنها داستان بلند منتشرشدهٔ بهرام صادقی و یکی از آثار شاخص داستاننویسی مدرن فارسی است. نام تثبیتشدهٔ اثر در منابع و بازار انگلیسی Malakut است. تعبیر The Heavenly Kingdom معنای عنوان را توضیح میدهد، اما جای نام منتشرشدهٔ کتاب را نمیگیرد.
داستان ساعت یازده شبِ یک چهارشنبه آغاز میشود؛ جن در آقای مودت حلول میکند و سه همراهش او را نزد دکتر حاتم میبرند. درمانگاه باغمانند پزشک، ام.ل. و گذشتهٔ رازآلود دکتر حاتم، خواننده را وارد شبی میکنند که در آن مرز درمان و مرگ، بدن و هویت، واقعیت و کابوس پیوسته جابهجا میشود. روایت در شش فصل پیش میرود و نزدیک سپیدهدم پایان مییابد.
صادقی با طنز سیاه، امر غریب و فضایی سوررئال به ترس از مرگ، میل به جاودانگی، گناه، ازخودبیگانگی و پوچی میپردازد. شخصیتها پاسخ اخلاقی سادهای به خواننده نمیدهند؛ نامها، اندامهای ازدسترفته و دو باغِ موازی به بخشی از معماری داستان تبدیل میشوند. همین فشردگی و ابهام کنترلشده، «ملکوت» را به اثری ماندگار و محل گفتوگوی چند نسل از نویسندگان و منتقدان بدل کرده است.
«ملکوت» نخستین بار در سال ۱۹۶۱ در شمارهٔ ۱۲ «کیهان هفته» منتشر شد، در سال ۱۹۷۰ در مجموعهٔ «سنگر و قمقمههای خالی» بازنشر شد و در سال ۱۹۷۱ بهصورت کتابی مستقل انتشار یافت. نسخهٔ معرفیشده در این صفحه از نشر کتاب زمان است: ۱۱۲ صفحه، قطع رقعی، جلد شومیز و شابک 9789646380172. سال و نوبت چاپ هر نسخهٔ فیزیکی باید از شناسنامهٔ همان نسخه خوانده شود.

About Malakut
Malakut is the only published novella by Bahram Sadeghi and a landmark of modern Persian fiction. Malakut is the established title in English-language publication and reference records. The Heavenly Kingdom is a useful gloss of the Persian word, but it should not replace the book’s published market title.
The story begins at eleven o’clock on a Wednesday night, when a jinn enters Mr Maveddat and his three companions take him to Dr Hatam. The doctor’s garden clinic, the mutilated M.L. and Hatam’s concealed past draw the reader into a night in which the boundaries between cure and death, body and identity, and reality and nightmare continually shift. The narrative unfolds in six chapters and ends near dawn.
Sadeghi uses black humour, the uncanny and a surreal atmosphere to examine fear of death, the desire for immortality, guilt, alienation and the absurd. The characters offer no simple moral verdict. Names, missing body parts and the story’s two parallel gardens become part of its formal design. This compressed, controlled ambiguity has made Malakut an enduring work discussed by generations of writers and critics.
Malakut first appeared in issue 12 of Kayhan-e Hafteh in 1961, was reissued in the 1970 collection Sangar o Qomqomahā-ye Khāli, and appeared as a separate volume in 1971.
