«نامههای کافکا به پدر و مادر: از سالهای ۱۹۲۲–۱۹۲۴» ترجمهٔ فارسی مجموعهٔ Briefe an die Eltern aus den Jahren 1922–1924 از فرانتس کافکا (Franz Kafka) است که ناصر غیاثی (Naser Ghiasi) آن را مستقیم از آلمانی به فارسی برگردانده است. این کتاب «نامه به پدر» سال ۱۹۱۹ نیست؛ آن اثر نامهای بلند و انتقادی به هرمان کافکا بود، اما این مجموعه نامهها و کارتنامههای کوتاهتری را دربر میگیرد که کافکا در دو سال پایانی زندگی برای هر دو والدش فرستاد.
بستهای شامل ۳۲ سند در آوریل ۱۹۸۶ به یک عتیقهفروشی پراگ رسید و سپس به آرشیو ادبی موزهٔ ادبیات چک منتقل شد. یوزف چرماک (Josef Čermák) و مارتین سواتوش (Martin Svatoš) این اسناد را تدوین کردند و مجموعه نخستینبار در سال ۱۹۹۰ منتشر شد.
نامهها از اقامتگاههای پایانی کافکا میآیند: برلینِ گرفتار تورم، جایی که او از پاییز ۱۹۲۳ کوشید با دورا دیامانت زندگی مستقلی بسازد، و آسایشگاههای اتریش در ماههای پایانی بیماری. او دربارهٔ خوراک، گرانی، بستههایی که خانواده از پراگ میفرستاد، خانه، آبوهوا، رفتوآمد و وضعیت جسمی خود مینویسد. پشت این جزئیات روزمره، هم تلاش برای استقلال از خانواده دیده میشود و هم وابستگی عاطفی و مالی به آنان.
لحن نامهها اغلب محبتآمیز، شوخ و اطمینانبخش است و شدت بیماری را از والدین پنهان میکند. همین فاصله میان آنچه گفته میشود و آنچه ناگفته میماند، ارزش ادبی و زندگینامهای مجموعه را میسازد. آخرین نامه در ۲ ژوئن ۱۹۲۴، یک روز پیش از مرگ کافکا، در آسایشگاه کیرلینگ نوشته شد. سل حنجره چنان پیش رفته بود که او نتوانست نامه را تمام کند و دورا دیامانت چند سطر پایانی را به جای او نوشت.
کتاب تصویری پیچیدهتر از رابطهٔ کافکا با خانواده نشان میدهد: نه فقط ترس و کشمکش مشهور با پدر، بلکه سپاس، دلتنگی، شوخی و تلاش برای محافظت از والدین در برابر واقعیت مرگ. نسخهٔ فارسی حاضر از نشر ثالث در رکوردهای تازه ۱۱۵ صفحهٔ شمارهگذاریشده و ۱۱۶ صفحهٔ فیزیکی دارد؛ عدد قدیمی ۱۰۲ صفحه به این نسخه تعلق ندارد.

Kafka’s Letters to His Parents, 1922–1924 is the Persian translation of Briefe an die Eltern aus den Jahren 1922–1924 by Franz Kafka, translated directly from German by Naser Ghiasi. It should not be confused with Kafka’s 1919 Letter to His Father. That work is a single long, accusatory letter to Hermann Kafka; this volume gathers shorter letters and postcards Franz sent to both parents during the final two years of his life.
A group of 32 documents reached a Prague antiquarian bookseller in April 1986 and was then acquired by the literary archive of the Museum of Czech Literature. Josef Čermák and Martin Svatoš edited the documents, and the collection first appeared in 1990.
The letters come from Kafka’s final residences: inflation-stricken Berlin, where in autumn 1923 he attempted an independent life with Dora Diamant, and Austrian sanatoria during the closing months of his illness. He writes about food, prices, parcels from Prague, lodging, weather, travel and his physical condition. Beneath those ordinary details are both his struggle for independence and his continuing emotional and financial reliance on the family.
The tone is often affectionate, playful and reassuring, concealing the severity of his illness from his parents. That distance between what is said and what remains unsaid gives the correspondence much of its literary and biographical force. Kafka began the final letter at the Kierling sanatorium on 2 June 1924, one day before his death. Laryngeal tuberculosis had made him too weak to finish it, and Dora Diamant added several lines for him.
The collection offers a more complex family portrait than the famous conflict with his father alone: gratitude, longing, humour and an attempt to shield his parents from the reality of death. Recent Persian catalogues record 115 numbered pages and 116 physical pages for this Saless edition; the old shop figure of 102 does not describe the current copy.
